My name is Julie Speight and I would like to introduce my new company J Speight Consultancy,

‘Education Against Exploitation’.

I have worked with young people and their families for over 22 years in both an educational and social setting. Over the last 6 years I have worked for a statutory multi agency Child Exploitation Team as an Educational Development and Welfare Officer. Working closely with police, health social care and education settings. This involved working directly with affected children and their families. Additionally a large part of role included producing and delivering education and training packages for both young people and professionals, including social care, police, health practitioners, schools, colleges, care homes, council officials, fire officers, taxi companies, hoteliers and licensees.

This in turn this has led me to a comprehensive understanding of the complex and diverse issues which young people are exposed to. I feel that education, support and guidance are vital in the empowerment of young people, for them to reach informed decisions regarding their personal safety and sexual health and wellbeing.
